Equipment sharing
To keep from bringing duplicate equipment, please list below what you are bringing. We need:
- Network (fo0bar)
- Router w/wireless. We will use only WPA this year, come prepared.
- FrankenDell Router of Death(TM), complete with VPN so nothing unencrypted goes over the hotel network.
- 8-port switch (sorry, couldn't find a 16/24-port that didn't sound like a jet engine)
- Eight 25' cat5e cables
- Two 25' cat5e crossover cables
- Five 6-port power strips
- 25' extension cable
- Cable tester
- The "cheap" LCD, in case server doesn't come up correctly
- Beer
- Laptops? Desktops?
- MarkBallew: Powerbook, Zaurus w/OpenBSD, iPod, camera
- wang: LapTop, Nintendo DS Lite, iMate JasJar, Digital Camera
- MrBob: LapTop, Nintendo DS Lite, iPod Mini
- fo0bar: Hookers & blow
- A bottle opener/knife! (Not from people who are flying, obviously.) - You can check these items.
- (MrBob/wang: Utility Knives (we each carry one) + sturdy Bottle Opener
- Coax security sleeve remover. Many hotels have sleeves protecting the coax feed from allowing you to hook up VCRs/game systems/etc, and that would be good if needed.
- I didn't get around to ordering this. Oh well. --Fo0bar 18:43, 31 July 2006 (PDT)
- Nintendo DS - If you own a Nintendo DS, Mr.Bob, Mr.Legdrop, and I, Wang, will be bringing ours, and utilities to flash them for running HomeBrew and such.
Travel
- fo0bar will be driving, and will have room for 1, possibly 2 other people (the rest of the space will be used for equipment).

Meet up
If you aren't staying in the room but would like to meet up, say when you'll arrive, what events you are going to, etc.
<BiSkiT> i live here. no idea what events to attend - i need a guidance councelor...
Internet
Internet will be provided in-room via a WAP/router connected to the hotel jack. You will have the option of wired, or WPA PSK (most likely AES/CCMP). The conference space should have wireless access too. If you want to have a little extra security (or any security in the conference space), you may want to look at OpenVPN for Llamas. Or, for the extra slackery amoung you, GhettoVPN for Llamas.
